1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use ctpassist.au (the website) or CTP Assist's service. CTP Assist is an independent service operated by Work Cover Doctors Australia Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our").

By using the website or our service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

2. What our service includes

We can:

  • explain how the NSW CTP scheme works, in general terms
  • help you prepare your claim: finding the right insurer, the Certificate of Fitness, the police event number and the claim form
  • go through the claim form with you and help get your claim to the insurer
  • go through the insurer's letters with you and help you keep track of dates
  • with your consent, introduce you to an independent lawyer, a doctor experienced with CTP claims or an allied health provider

3. Not legal or medical advice

We are not a law firm or a medical practice. We give general information and practical help with the claim process. We don't give legal, medical or financial advice, and we don't represent you.

For advice about your own situation, speak to an independent lawyer. For some statutory benefits questions, the CTP Legal Advisory Service can advise. For medical advice, speak to your doctor.

4. Not the government or an insurer

CTP Assist is independent. We are not the NSW Government or any government agency or service, we are not Service NSW or a CTP insurer, and we are not connected with any of them.

5. Independent providers

Lawyers, doctors and allied health providers we introduce you to run their own practices. They have their own terms, fees and responsibilities, and they explain them to you before you agree to anything. Any agreement you make is between you and them.

We only share your details with a provider after you agree to that specific referral. You can always choose someone else, or no one.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Give us information that is accurate, as far as you know.
  • Time limits apply. We help you keep track of them, but meeting the time limits for your claim, reviews and other steps stays your responsibility.
  • Please don't send us documents, ID or bank details unless we ask for something specific.
  • Use the website lawfully, and don't try to interfere with how it works.

7. We can't promise an outcome

Only the insurer decides your claim, and decisions can be reviewed by the insurer and the Personal Injury Commission. We can't promise any result, amount or timeframe, and nothing on the website or said by our team is a promise about your claim.

9. Intellectual property

The content and design of the website belong to us or our licensors. You can view, print and share pages for your own personal use. Please don't copy or republish content for commercial purposes without our written permission. Photos are licensed stock images and don't show our staff or clients.

10. Liability

We take care to keep the website accurate and up to date, but the CTP rules change and general information can't cover every situation. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or our general information.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded.

11. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal and health information.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the website or our service after a change, the updated terms apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
