You tell us what happened. We call you back, work out your dates and your insurer, and help you get your claim ready and lodged. Then we stay with you while the insurer decides.
How it works
How CTP Assist works
Independent help with your NSW CTP claim. We're not the government, an insurer, a law firm or a medical practice.

What happens when you ask us for help
Tell us what happened
Start your claim online in about 4 minutes, or call us on (02) 7238 7379. Tell us who was hurt, when the accident happened and where the claim is up to. You don't need any documents to start.
We call you back
We usually call back within 1 business day. We'll start by saying we're an independent service. If a time limit is close, call us rather than wait.
We get your claim ready
We work out which insurer your claim likely goes to and which dates matter for you. Then we go through what you need: a Certificate of Fitness from your doctor, the police event number and the Application for Personal Injury Benefits.
We help get your claim lodged
We go through the claim form with you and help get your claim to the insurer. A claim can be lodged online through Service NSW, or by email or post to the insurer.
We stay with you
Once your claim is lodged, the insurer should contact you within about 3 days, and it must tell you in writing within 4 weeks whether it accepts liability. If a letter doesn't make sense, or you're not sure what happens next, call us and we'll go through it with you.
If you need more
If your case calls for it, we can introduce you to an independent CTP lawyer, a doctor experienced with CTP claims, or allied health. It's your choice, and nothing is shared with a provider until you agree to that referral.
We're not a law firm or a medical practice. If your case calls for it, we can introduce you to an independent CTP lawyer or a doctor experienced with CTP claims.
What we won't do
Knowing what we don't do matters as much as what we do.
Give legal or medical advice
For advice on your own situation, see an independent lawyer or your doctor. The CTP Legal Advisory Service can help with some statutory benefits questions.
Act for you with the insurer
We help you contact the insurer and understand what it says. We don't act for you.
Promise an outcome
Only the insurer decides your claim, and its decisions can be reviewed. We never promise an amount or a timeframe.
Pressure you
You decide what happens at every stage, and you can stop whenever you like.
Contact you unless you ask
We only call people who ask us to. We never cold-call people about crashes.
Be wary of unexpected calls, texts or social media messages urging you to make a CTP claim or asking for your crash details. This is known as “claim farming”. We never cold-call people about crashes.
Your information
We collect only what we need to call you back and help with your claim. We don't ask for your Medicare, licence or bank details, passwords or health records. Those go only on the claim form.
We share your details with a provider only if you agree to that specific referral. We use trusted service providers to run our website, forms and email. Some of them may store or process information outside Australia. Read our Privacy policy for how we handle your information and how to access or correct it.
